News from EPI Media Advisory: EPI analyst to join press call on effects of the coronavirus on domestic workers’ employment

Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at 10 a.m. Eastern, the Economic Policy Institute will participate in a press call hosted by the National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA). NDWA Executive Director Ai-Jen Poo will discuss results from a new survey showing the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on domestic workers. EPI State Policy Analyst Julia Wolfe will discuss data showing how nannies, home care workers, and house cleaners have faced significant job loss and insecurity during the pandemic. Melissa, a home care worker from South Florida, will also speak about recently losing her job as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
